Ken Burgess is a Partner in Boise-based public affairs firm Veritas Advisors. Veritas is a small full-service public affairs firm offering expertise in governmental affairs, lobbying, political consulting, and communication. He joined the firm in 2005.
Ken has a broad range of experience and knowledge in a number of public policy issue areas. His creative approaches to public opinion and image development serve his clients well in the area of strategic communications, campaign and issue management, crisis management, coalition development, and state and federal government affairs.
He has been the chief state lobbyist for the Idaho Home Builders Association since 2017.
Prior to joining Veritas Advisors, Ken served seven years as District Director in United States Senator Larry Craig’s Boise office. In this position, he had administrative and managerial responsibility for the development and implementation of political strategy, community outreach, and constituent services.
He served four years as a community relations director in the Office of then-Arizona Governor Fife Symington. In this position he had the unique responsibility to craft and implement public image strategies for a sitting Governor with personal legal troubles.
A third generation Idahoan, and native of Castleford, Idaho, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Idaho in 1986, and a Master of Public Administration from Arizona State University in 1997.
Ken enjoys big game hunting and golf and recently accomplished his goal of summiting all nine of Idaho’s 12,000+ foot peaks.
